Goodbye 2020!!! 🎊

This year has been a wild ride! A lot of unexpected things happened that no one thought would happen. This year gave me the opportunity to learn how to love myself better and have a better view of myself. Events like the pandemic challenged my mental health greatly, because it's hard to have to worry about standing a certain amount of feet away from someone I want to talk to, wearing a mask everywhere I go, and worrying about when things are going to get better. I know we can make 2021 a better year and have opportunities to do good.

You Are A Superhero

What you go through doesn't define who you are. It just makes you stronger and more powerful than you already are. We watch superhero movies because their adventures and stories are exciting, and it's also interesting to see what they learn along the way. There are moments in their stories where they go through pain and struggles. One of the superheroes that I absolutely love is Thor, because he has such a big heart and looks after his friends; he also has his fair share of struggles and goes through depression and anxiety after Infinity War. When he goes back in time to retrieve one of the infinity stones he has a moment where his hammer Mjolnir comes back to him, and he realizes that his struggles don't define him. That was one of my favorite moments to see throughout those movies. We can learn a lot through movies and seeing superheroes be vulnerable can show us that our struggles don't define us. I know without pain we won't know joy, and it will feel so

Learning Self Love Again

I haven't written in a while because I have been so busy and learning how to love myself again. It feels so nice to remember all the good I contribute to the world and that I'm more than my flaws and imperfections. There have been times when I've felt the lowest of the low and I have felt like I have fallen down a hole I can't get out of. The past is something to learn from, and it isn't a sentence. We grow and improve from who we were yesterday, last week, ten months ago, or even four years ago! We experience things to learn.    One of those things is to love ourselves, because we need to be our best selves. That's why we have Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ to help us with that. We are here to improve, not stay the same. If we want to stay the same then we'll miss out on so many life changing experiences. Perfection takes time and it isn't something we need to have in a year, because it will take a lifetime. That's why we need to improve ourselve

Relax and Reflect

It's been a while since I've just sat down and wrote. Life can become so busy that we forget to stop and breathe for a minute. I'll have to admit, life has been a roller coaster lately; this year has been unlike any other. There's no question about how mentally taxing it's been. Maybe this year will help us realize what truly matters in life.  If I'm being honest, I was angry and frightened when the world started to go crazy. I had so many plans I wanted to make with my friends and family. Now that it's been six months since quarantine, I realize that my loved ones are the ones that should be my priority. I'm so grateful that everyone I love is safe and secure.  During my time of reflecting, I realized that I am stronger than I give myself credit for. You are stronger than you give yourself credit for. I believe this year is a year to strengthen us and help us become the best we can be.

Mulan Movie Review

Over the weekend I watched the new Mulan movie with my friends and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised! Yes, it's not the same as the original, but it still had an epic story line. This is the kind of movie to make you feel that you can conquer the world after watching it! Liu Yifei does a phenomenal portrayal of Mulan and I could definitely see her as someone young girls can look up to. This was an excellent reimagining of the classic Disney movie we all know and love.

In Harmony Cover

Image
Hey friends! With all the events going on in the world I have been thinking about a song I remember performing when I was a kid. “In Harmony” from The Little Mermaid Tv series. I think about the words “If there was only one note how boring life would be. I’m glad there are so many notes in many different keys. I hear each voice singing with a special quality and when we sing together we bring music to the sea!”    I know we don’t live under the sea 😂 but we bring music together when we come together in harmony. There are so many notes in many different keys that make music beautiful. When we come together and show each other kindness we can make beautiful music. I hope you enjoy my cover of this beautiful song! I love you all! ❤️🎶🧜🏻‍♀️💗💗

Acts of Kindness

With the way the world has been it's hard to find hope, but where there's light there is hope. Throughout my life I've always strived to be kind to everyone I've come in contact with, because everyone deserves love and kindness. It breaks my heart to see someone being ridiculed for differences; which is disheartening because the world would be boring if we were all the same. People should the individual for who they are, and not who they appear today. I strongly agree with the phrase it's what's on the inside that counts. Like I said, we all should see people for who they are. If you take the time to get to know someone, then it could be the start to an amazing friendship and it could make anyone's day. Love people for the kind of person they are.

Self Love

These past few days I've learned the importance of loving yourself for who you are; not hating yourself for who you're not. I believe this is a crucial lesson for all of us to learn. There is only one you, and that's the best. You can be the best you ever, and never forget how much you are loved by those around you. I have struggled with self love in my life, but I was reminded by my parents, sis and friends to love myself. I remembered I am stronger than I give myself credit for. You have strength too; you are stronger than you think you are. You are a warrior

Someone is on your Side

There's a beautiful song in the musical Into the Woods entitled "No One is Alone." I know there are times where we have all felt alone, I know I have. I can assure you that no one is alone. Things have been so difficult where this feeling seems to be getting stronger everyday. I definitely miss going out and spending time with my friends, but I have faith things will get better and it will all come to pass. "Someone is on your side, no one is alone."

Healing Part 2

These times have been so hard for everyone. It can be hard to find hope with the way things are right now, but there is always hope. Bad things don't last forever; we can remember the good things that we currently have or will come to pass. Good things are in store and I know we can heal from the difficult time we are all going through. All will be well and things will get better.

Sun after the Storm

"Even the darkest night will end and the sun will rise." -Les Misérables      With the everything that's happening in the world it seems that there is no end in sight, and the world seems dark. When there's a storm the sun will always come out. I know I've needed that reminder a lot lately; I know the virus isn't going to last forever. We just need to keep our heads up and have faith that everything will be okay. Trials aren't meant to be permanent.  I have faith this isn't going to be permanent.

Healing

Heartbreak, the worst thing anyone can go through. Whether it's a from a romantic relationship or a friendship it still hurts just the same. The bright side is that it doesn't last forever. Sometimes in life we have to go through life and learn painful lessons that make us become better people. When something bad happens that means something good and better is on its way, and we just need to have patience. In The Book of Mormon there is a wonderful verse that explains this beautifully, "And if men come unto me I will show unto them their weaknesses. I give unto men weakness that they may be humble; and my grace is sufficient for all men that humble themselves before me; for if they humble themselves before me, and have faith in me, then I will make weak things become strong unto them." -Ether 12:27     We are repeatedly told that everything happens for a reason; this is true. I love this truth. There are times where I still need to be reminded of that. Good

Quote of the Day #28

"Now is the time to seize the day!"    This is one of my favorite quotes from one of my favorite musicals! We must seize the day everyday and live life to the fullest. It can be scary, but it's so worth it. I love going out and seeing what adventures are in store to make life more exciting.  We can't live life wanting everyday to be the same; change can be intimidating but it is so beneficial in the end. Change gives us opportunities to grow and become better people. None of us are perfect, we all have things we need to work on. When we seize the day we get opportunities to change.

New Month, New Chances

What I love the most about a new month is that it gives us the opportunity to get a clean slate and a chance to achieve what we want to. I'm grateful for new chances and opportunities. There is so many exciting things coming up this month that I'm looking forward to. Having something to look forward to is one of the best ways to boost your mood; I know that's something that helps me!  "With each sunrise we are given a chance for a new beginning!" What is something you're looking forward to this month? What is something you're hoping to achieve? I am excited to see what this month has to offer and go on adventures, Life is wonderful.

Life Lessons with the Best People

"There is a difference between missing someone and missing having someone."    There are times where people are part of our lives to teach us something. Sometimes they stay, and other times they leave. That can be a heartbreaking thing, but as the old saying goes "Everything happens for a reason."  I often have to be reminded of this lesson. There are people who I miss so much, but I know the lesson I was supposed to learn has been taught and I'm forever grateful because I have become a better person because of what I learned from them. There's a quote from my favorite musical that says "Because I knew you, I have been changed for good." 💚

Respectful Relationship

"Love yourself enough to never lower your standards for anyone."    It breaks my heart to see so many people in relationships that are one sided or lack respect. A relationship should be two sided and have respect for one another. We can work together to bring more kindness in relationships, and not just romantic relationships. We all deserve kindness. I have seen so many examples of kindness in relationships that it still gives me hope that we can bring it to our relationships we may have. Never let anyone compromise your standards for anyone; remember your self worth and love yourself more than the toxicity someone could be placing on you. There is always help to get out of toxic relationships. You are worth so much to everyone around you and have so much to offer in this world. Remember to be your best self.

Quote of the Day #27

"This generation has lost the true meaning of romance. There are so many songs that disrespect women. You can't treat the woman you love as a piece of meat. You should treat your love like a princess. Give her love songs, something with real meaning. Maybe I'm old fashioned, but to respect the woman you love should be a priority." -Tom Hiddleston     I strongly agree with this quote and adds to the reasons I love Tom Hiddleston! This generation really has lost the true meaning of romance, but we can find it again. Treat the man or woman you love with the highest respect; it's a team effort in a relationship/marriage. Being respectful and kind is an important step in a relationship. We all deserved to be loved. Fall in love and show kindness to those you love.

I'm Back!

Hey everyone! Happy Martin Luther King Jr. Day! This is an amazing day to celebrate kindness and love to everyone. We are all different in our own special and unique ways and we should be treating everyone with love instead of punishing others for their differences. Dr. King said this amazing quote "Love is the only force capable of transforming an enemy into a friend." Show kindness, be happy, and embrace our differences. Have a wonderful day!
