Gratitude

Happy Thanksgiving! 🦃 🍽 🍁

No matter how you celebrate this holiday of being thankful, I hope you all have had a wonderful day and remembered what you are grateful for. I know the last year has been difficult and times like these can make it hard to see the good we already have, but this year and the past couple of weeks have taught me to focus on the good. Not everyone has secret motives or ill intentions. Most everyone has a good heart.

Sometimes when we've been through a lot in life it can be hard to trust people, because as humans we strive to avoid pain. We make sure we avoid situations that involve pain, but we can't always do that. No one is immune to hard times; that certainly doesn't make you a bad person, it means you have the strength to handle what is going on in your life. The Lord won't give you more than you can handle.

Yes, we are allowed to feel grief and sorrow; it's part of being human. To help us get through hard times, we can remember what we are grateful for and we can take the time to lose ourselves in service. You don't have to go through whatever you are dealing with alone.

I'm grateful for each new day and new opportunities that come along. I am also grateful for second chances and reconciliation. Another thing I'm grateful for is acts of kindness, because those kinds of deeds are one of the things that make the world better.  During these hard times, I have learned to appreciate the good things in life, and there are more good things than bad things. There is always peace and hope, we just have to find it.

There is good in this world; we focus too much on the bad things that are happening. I understand we need to be informed about what is going on in the world, but we don't focus enough on the positive things that are happening in the world.

What are you grateful for? ❤️
